At CASAP

We Know How to Make Learning Fun For Students

It was in 2010 when the College of Arts & Sciences of Asia & the Pacific (CASAP) formally opened its doors to its first enrolees taking up Hotel and Restaurant Services, Travel and Tour Management, Business Management, Computer Technology, and Computer Science. It was a virtual commencement day as the institution’s visionaries led by former Marikina City Mayor Honorable Maria Lourdes Carlos-Fernando began what was to become its flagship hub of learning in many parts of the country. Eventually, the institution offered short term courses in Culinary Arts, Commercial Cooking NC II, Travel Services NC II, Computer Programming NC IV, Computer Hardware Servicing NC II, and Bookkeeping NC III.

Imbued with a vision to  be “internationally recognized with its holistic approach to education, keeping relevant resources that ignite excellence in education, research, and socially responsibility”, CASAP – as it has now been affectionately referred to by its students and supportive parents, continuously initiates measures to enhance learning, relevant co-curricular activities, facilities upgrade, and faculty development. Its mission statement underscores its commitment to stakeholders: Conserve and relate technical and practical knowledge in varied areas of study and provide students with a multitude of competencies” to prepare them for “global trade and commerce”.

Today, CASAP has six campuses located in Pasig City, Marikina City, Quezon City, Bacolod City, the municipalities of Taytay and Rodriguez (Montalban) in Rizal Province. It offers nursery, kindergarten elementary, high school, and junior and senior high school programs. For its college courses, CASAP offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Entrepreneurship, Tourism Management, Accounting Technology, Information System, Public Administration, and Computer Science. It also offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Deans, Principals, and Faculty Members of the six campuses monitor closely the academic and holistic development of students. Adept at curriculum enhancement as well as positive disruption measures, these intelligence intervenors ensure that outcome based education (OBE) is attained within the prescribed time frame. Given the stringent standards set by the school, their caring and inclusive approach has benefitted the community of learners. CASAP’s core values of God-centeredness, Respect, Accountability, Dedication, Excellence, and Sincerity have served as a sustainable beacon.

At the same time, the school authorities’ proven capabilities to measure learning in every phase of a specific program have been appropriately cited. But the bottom line remains uncompromised: the student learns the rudiments of a specific discipline and advances confidently towards a creative approach to deal with every facet of individual development!

In the immediate term, CASAP will consolidate its great strides. In the medium-term, it will focus on the expansion and broadening of its learner base, and develop timely courses and learning disciplines to mine the depths of the Filipino mind to excel, to shine, and to appropriate what have been learned within the walls of the College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific!
